The VC4Africa crowdfunding platform aims to connect aspiring entrepreneurs with the network, experience and capital needed to grow and scale their business. In the interest to support successful connections VC4Africa aims not to stand in the way of business deals and carries the ethos that too often matchmaking platforms ask for a fee before you even know what the community is about.

With over 15,000 facebook followers alone, VC4Africa was started as a LinkedIn group in the spring of 2008 and has grown organically into what is now the largest online community dedicated to entrepreneurs and investors building companies on the continent. The VC4Africa community has always been free for anyone to join and the entire network and its content remain open and accessible. There are also opportunities to earn rewards and even join up with others at a range of meet-ups across the continent.

VC4Africa help good ideas find good partners. The fee (3%) obtained after a completed partnership is then reinvested back into the VC4Africa community. A core vision behind the project is that VC4Africa is only a platform within a larger social movement. Open communication and collaboration is encouraged and all members are invited to become active participants in both growing and developing the project.
