Business objectives and marketing:
* When you have strong mission, you know yo need to identify your target market, make it realistic to start with. HOW DO YOU DO THAT???
If you cater for everybody, find clients who share a specific passion/hobby/value with you, or people/organisations you know best. It will become a more enjoyable experience! Go step by step...
* To find your clients, organise networking events or seminars where you can showcase your products or services and start conversations!
* One way to be creative with your rates: try honesty rates. Where your clients judge the value of your service and pay accordingly… (mind the cash-flow!) 9you might want to start that once you feel very comfortable with your track-reco and performance...!)
Finding a focus:
Draw 3 overlapping circles: In circle 1, put the things you are strongly passionate about In circle 2: identify the things you are really good at In circle 3, identify the things you can do where you can make money Any item you find in the area where the three circles overlap will probably emerge as the service/product you can end up trading.
Draw a time-line where you explain the journey one specific client can have with you, from day one to up to 5 years. What are the products or services you provide that person will be able to benefit from or purchase.
Finding a name for your business:
You can opt for a name that says what you do or an “umbrella” name that intrigues people and is more of a concept! For people who sell their brain capacity, how about choosing your own name as your brand. Make it sound the way you like.
Buy your domain name as soon as you can.
Survey your friends and strangers about the name of your business. What does this name inspire them, what do they think you trade in?
